Background & Training
Abigail Juarez is a senior Music Therapy student at Sam Houston State University, where her studies focus on the role music plays in learning and development. She began playing the piano at a very young age and has since expanded her musical experience to include guitar and flute.
She teaches piano and guitar at our Spring campus, joining Jim Dorr on the Western music faculty.
Teaching Philosophy
Abigail believes music is a powerful tool for learning, creativity, and personal growth - not only a skill to be acquired, but a way for a young student to discover what they are capable of.
Her teaching is aimed at helping young students build confidence, develop strong musical foundations, and foster a lifelong love of music. Her interest in teaching and in working with children sits alongside her music therapy training, and both shape how she approaches a lesson.
